  Name Comments
1 Fantastical  Showed little in one start turf sprinting. Stretches out here and may try dirt
2 Fundamentally  Dull effort in latest after decent try at Ellis. Bred to handle stretch out. A chance
3 Yes to Champagne  2 fair efforts sprinting on dirt. Stretches out but Wilkes is only 4% with that move
4 Voice from Above 1/2 sister to Carrick - won Grade 1 at 1 1/4 on turf. Tough task to win FT at 8.5f
5 Neom Beach  Two pretty good races albeit both on grass. Adds Saez. Looms the one to beat
6 Kiss Blue Bred for grass and tough to debut going long on dirt. No surprise if she scratched
7 It’s Satisfactual   Scratched
8 Adrasteia Showed speed before stopping on turf in latest at Keeneland. Hard to figure
9 Butterfly Queen Ran greatly improved race when switched to turf last out. Likely scratch
10 On the Nile  First time starter from post 10 though figures to move in with scratches.
11 Luz Divina  Shows a work at Tampa last week, doubtful that she will run here. Likely scratch
12 Magic Gathering  Showed little when sprinting on dirt first time. Keneally solid with stretch outs
13 Stepahanieswarrior Makes 7th start of career. Hasn’t shown much ability on dirt or at this class level
14 Whimsically  Scratched

The Game of Silks Race of the Week this week is the 4th on Thursday from Churchill Downs. It was originally scheduled to be held on the grass but they have been having some issues with the turf course in Louisville and this race will be moved to the main track at the same 1 1/16 distance. Very few of the entrant's have much dirt form so our comments will be limited this week.

Fantastical only has one start and that was sprinting on the turf where she didn’t show much. Has the inside post which isn’t a bad thing going this distance but trainer Sharp is 0-11 over the last 5 years when stretching out from sprint to route race and changing surface. Fantastical is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

Fundamentally disappointed in latest after relatively promising debut on dirt at Ellis this past summer. The stretch out may be helpful and the competition for the most part hasn’t shown any dirt proficiency so she will likely be one of the choice if not the favorite. Fundamentally is owned in Silks by Alpha Racing.

Yes to Champagne also has two dirt sprints though she didn’t show a whole lot in either one. Wilkes numbers with these types of stretch outs are not great and the best hope is that the slower pace going long suits her better than the shorter races did. Yes to Champagne is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

It’s always difficult to win going a distance of ground in a horses first start which is the task facing Voice From Above. She is a ½ sister to Carrick who won the grade 1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park, that race being a 10 furlong event, which shows that there is some pedigree to handle the route distance. The question is can she do it without the experience or fitness of having had a race under her belt? Voice From Above is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

Neom Beach is by solid young sire Omaha Beach and she comes into this race with two pretty good starts on her resume. First time out at Saratoga’s, she overcame early issues to press the pace and weakened from her efforts in the final yards. Last time she chased a lone speed horse in an off the turf race at Churchill, checking in second. The stretch out makes sense, she has run two good speed figures in her only starts and the switch to Luis Saez is a big positive as well. For us she is the one to beat in here. This horse is available for Auction via the SilksAuction house this week.

I’m skeptical that Riley Mott will choose to run Kiss Blue in this spot first time out on the dirt considering that her pedigree is almost entirely turf orientated. If he does choose to run, I’m thinking it will be more for experience than having an actual chance of winning. Kiss Blue is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

Adrasteia showed speed before tiring badly in her last start at Keeneland, which was her grass debut. She hadn’t shown much at all in two previous main track tries so I’m skeptical but perhaps they try to get to the lead in this race? Adrasteia is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

Butterfly Queen ran so poorly on the dirt in her debut and so well on the grass in start number two it’s unlikely that Maker will race her on the dirt here but if he does call us wary of her ability to handle the dirt. Butterfly Queen is available via Delivery Pass in Game of Silks.

On the Nile should be moving is considering a couple inside of her will likely be scratched due to the surface chance. As a first time starter going long, it’s difficult to imagine her being ready to win this time but it isn’t exactly a field with much dirt form. She is owned in Silks by Axiom Racing.

Luz Divina shows a worst from Tampa Bay Downs last week so it’s unlikely to see her ship back north to Kentucky to run on dirt from an outside post. Luz Divina is owned in Silks by ONE EYED DOG Stables.

Magic Gathering didn’t show much in her first start sprinting on the dirt though Keneally has pretty good percentage with horses stretching out from sprints to route races and we are grasping at straws to find something that might indicate that some of these horses will improve. Magic Gathering is owned in Silks by DRC Stables.

Stephanieswarrior has run often, this being her 7th start this year but she doesn’t have many good ones and her dirt form is dull. She is owned in Silks by Alpha Racing.

Whimsically will not run and would be scratched if she drew in. Oldsmar Farm & Race Club is the owner of this Filly in Silks.
